VIRTUE SIGNAL BREWING

Scenario
Virtue Signal Brewing Co. came to DESTROY with a bold name, exceptional non-alcoholic craft beer, and an ambitious goal: help redefine what people expect from NA beer.

The founders had already developed the brewery name, illustrations, and beer recipes. While the name was sure to get people's attention, our challenge was to make sure the brand would be known for the beer, not commentary. We needed a strategic platform to help Virtue Signal stand out in a rapidly growing category.

Practical Approach
Many NA brands have adopted the language of wellness, self-improvement, and healthy living. While effective, that approach perpetuates NA as a compromise: healthy lifestyle over great taste and good times.

Our Practically Dangerous Solution
We saw an opportunity to take a different approach. Through research, we found that 86% of NA beer drinkers also drink craft beer. Instead of treating NA beer as a healthy lifestyle compromise, we positioned Virtue Signal as a craft beer first and an NA beer second.

The strategy centered on a simple belief: beer isn’t a health product, nor should it try to be.

Choosing non-alcoholic beer shouldn't require an explanation, excuse, or apology. Losing the alcohol shouldn’t mean losing flavor or fun.

Never Hide Your Good Taste.

More than a tagline, it became the organizing principle for the brand. The idea celebrates confidence in your choices and an uncompromising commitment to flavor, allowing Virtue Signal to stand apart from category conventions that rely on apologies, excuses, or better-for-you claims.

Based on this strategy, we helped transform an idea into a complete brand system. We extended the visual identity, fully developed packaging, developed beer names, built the website and social presence, and created point-of-sale and sampling materials that brought the brand to life at every touchpoint.

Because with the vast majority of NA drinkers also drinking craft beer, NA shouldn't feel like settling. It should feel like choosing just another great craft beer.
